Effective supervision is the product of a unique set of knowledge and skills. With ASHA’s renewed interest in formalizing this distinct area of practice, this workshop will explore basic supervisory skills for SLPs across multiple settings. A framework for essential supervisory skill development will be presented, including ASHA standards for supervision and Anderson’s Continuum of Supervision. Techniques and strategies to assist the supervisee in self – reflection, clinical practice and professionalism will be discussed.
