Dena was born profoundly deaf and worked with many Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists in Western New York to help her lipread and speak. She was a 1994 graduate of Amherst Central High School and attended American University and Buffalo State College. Her accomplishments continue to serve as an inspiration to all who knew her.
