2017 DENA GOLDSTEIN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
SHAWNY will be offering the 15th annual Dena Goldstein Memorial Scholarship in May of 2017. Any graduating Western New York high school senior with a speech, language, and/or hearing impairment who plans to further his/her education and has benefited from speech and/or hearing services is eligible to apply. Applications may be downloaded from the links below or may be obtained by contacting Stephanie Verrico at email@example.com. Completed applications must be postmarked by March 24, 2017.
The Dena Goldstein Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Dena Goldstein, who lost her life as a result of a tragic car accident on February 16, 2002. Dena was born profoundly deaf and worked with many Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists in Western New York to help her lipread and speak. She was a 1994 graduate of Amherst Central High School and attended American University and Buffalo State College. Her accomplishments continue to serve as an inspiration to all who knew her.
