Qualifications
This scholarship is restricted to a graduating high school senior in Western New York who plans to further his/her education and has been accepted to an institution of higher learning. Applicants must be individuals who have a speech, language, and/or hearing impairment and have benefited directly from speech and/or hearing services.
Considerations
Applicants who meet the qualifications listed above and who exhibit one or more of Dena’s attributes will be given high consideration. Applicants who show determination, are spirited, adventurous, and/or sociable, do not let obstacles stand in the way of pursuing their dreams, and are involved in student government or other student activities will be highly considered.
Procedures
Applications must be accompanied by 1-2 letters of reference using the form provided. Completed applications must be postmarked by: March 26, 2010.
Award
This one time scholarship (amount to be determined) will be awarded on May 4, 2010 at the annual recognition dinner for the Speech-Language-Hearing Association of Western New York. The winner will be notified approximately 3 weeks prior to this event.
