NICOLE SPECHT
WINNER OF BRAP SCHOLARSHIP
Nicole Specht, a resident of Hamburg, NY was awarded the Vivian Louise Anderson Glenn Memorial Scholarship by the Board of Regional Association Presidents. BRAP is an association representing the regional speech, language and hearing associations of New York State. Nicole is a graduate student at the State University of New York at Fredonia. She will be pursuing a Ph.D. in Communicative Disorders and Sciences at the University of Buffalo in fall 2008. Nicole is interested in investigating the acoustic and perceptual speech characteristics with neurological impairments. She is an active member of SHAWNY, The Speech-Language and Hearing Association of Western New York. Nicole would like to pursue a tenure-track position at a research-oriented university and instill in students her enthusiasm for research.
Presentation of the award will occur in April 2008 at the 48th New York State Speech-Language Hearing Association’s Annual Convention held in Saratoga Springs, New York.
